CFID Taraba in collaboration with NMA and NCS implemented a project sponsored by CFID in 6 states of the federation : 3 tertiary and 3 secondary facilities.
Titled: Improving the Prudent Use of Biosimilars in Patients with hematologic malignancies or in Supportive Care in Nigeria
A Regional Educational Program for health care professionals. The project is aimed at improving the prudent use of biosimilars by health care professionals in patients with hematologic malignancies or in supportive care in the northeast and north-central Nigeria, through an educational program. CFID implemented this educational program in three top-rated cancer referral tertiary hospitals and three secondary hospitals that provide primary and secondary care in cities with high population density in the region.
The educational program is designed as a continuing education intervention for physicians,
Pharmacists and nurses in all target hospitals in Nigeria. This method of learning has been
shown to be effective in raising the competence of health providers in several clinical areas,
including cancer control.
