Centre for Initiative and Development (CFID) Taraba conducted advocacies with Stakeholders in Nguroje and Gembu and town hall meetings with key stakeholders in Gembu, Sardauna LGA of Taraba state. These was aimed at enlightening the key stakeholders on the projects:

Improving access to prevention of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus among pregnant women and women of childbearing age (PMTCT HBV)

Implementing Community Antimicrobial stewardship (CAMS) model in their communities,
and to obtain their buy-in, approval and support in driving the projects towards system strengthening /sustainability.
Centre for Initiative and Development (CFID) Taraba also conducted a one-day training for the Healthcare workers (HCWs) and community volunteers from Nguroje and Gembu, in Sardauna LGA of Taraba state. The training was to increase their knowledge, skills and capacity on the recent WHO guidelines on PMTCT HBV, 2020 to improve access to prevention of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus. This was followed by the flag off of PMTCT HBV/HCV free screening to pregnant women and donation of HBV/HCV test kits and drugs to three secondary facilities and primary healthcare center in Gembu and Nguroje for the continuation of the free services.
