World Hepatitis Day 2023 Symposium organized by CFID in collaboration with Taraba state Ministry of Health.
The symposium was set to raise awareness on the profile of viral hepatitis, accelerate local, state, national, and global response towards the elimination of viral hepatitis, and the urgent need for testing and treatment for the real people who need it.
With this year’s theme “One Liver, One Life…… We’re not waiting”, Tarabans are not waiting to get the Taraba state government to commit to the elimination of viral hepatitis in the state.
The meeting outcomes were to increase advocacy to the Taraba state government to get the political will and commitment and build the capacity of CSOs, CBOs, and other key stakeholders on interventions towards the elimination of Viral Hepatitis in the state and nation at large.

The Honorable Commissioner of Health speaking at the symposium stating the prevalence of hepatitis globally, it’s impact and effect in Nigeria and Taraba state, said he is committed to ensure that the new government support towards elimination of Viral Hepatitis.
