Understanding the risk factors associated with Invasive fungal infection based on clinical signs and symptoms and better equipping healthcare professionals in suspecting potential yeast or Mold infections cannot be overemphasized. Hence, far beyond deploying appropriate diagnostic tests, early diagnosis and management of invasive fungal infection for improved patients’ health outcomes in Nigeria are paramount.
CFID with support from the Pfizer Independent Global Medical Education grant is implementing an innovative project titled “Improving Health Care Professional Knowledge and Skills on the Early Diagnosis treatment and Management of Invasive Fungal Infections” across 8 States in Nigeria, namely, Abuja, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Plateau, Sokoto, and Taraba. It is aimed at contributing towards increasing the awareness and skills of healthcare professionals on early diagnosis of molds and yeast infections to improve the management of Invasive Fungal Infections.
